Regina Gudelis
The works of Regina Gudelis can be
found in
galleries and private and corporate collections in Canada, USA and
Europe.
In addition to winning numerous awards, her paintings and sculptures
have
been accepted in juried exhibitions in North America.
Using watercolour and acrylics in a
vibrant,
loosely executed style, Regina produces unique abstract and traditional
paintings. Meditation, teaching yoga and travel throughout the
world
add fuel to her creative spirit. She draws upon the images of the
universe and the creativity from within her soul for her pieces.
Many of her paintings are spiritual with symbolic forms. Often
the
subject is unknown and as she starts the painting. As she layers
shape upon shape, colour upon colour, gradually the subject begins to
reveal
itself and have unity.
An example of one of her works is
best described
by the artist. One of her abstract paintings, Child of the
Universe,
Regina describes as: “there is a women with a child who is
looking
at many planets realizing there is so much more than what we can see
and
that we are all children of the universe”.
Although she is primarily a
self-taught artist,
she has studied at the Summit School of Arts (New Jersey) and Lambton
College
(Ontario). She continues her art education by participating in numerous
workshops given by world-renowned artists such as Jack Reid, Barbara
Nechis,
Alex Powers, Katherine Liu, Don Andrews, Carole Barnes, and Steve
Aimone.
Born in Lithuania, Regina Gudelis
is a watercolour/mixed
media artist and a sculptor, who resides in Brights Grove, Ontario,
Canada.
Regina is an active member of the
local and
Florida art community. She has donated many paintings to
charitable
and other art functions. She also has experience teaching art for
the Lambton Board of Education, Lambton College and private workshops.
